Welcome! Today we’re counting down our picks for the best VR driving games that you should check out.
And without further ado, let’s dive right in.
#25. MudRunner VR

- Release Date: 2024
- Platform: PC
Before I continue, I have to let you know that this list is about VR driving games, not VR racing games. But hey, what’s the difference? Well, I consider driving games to be those where your main objectives revolve around driving, without the need to beat competitors. And if you’re looking for VR racing games, just check out my channel because I’ve already made a video on that.
Anyway, this is the VR version of the iconic MudRunner game, which is also available on the Meta Quest platform, so, definitely check it out if you’re a fan of the original!
#24. Car Parking Simulator VR

- Release Date: 2022
- Platform: PC
Okay, okay, I know what you’re thinking—this game has a ridiculous title. But it actually does what it says! In this game, you’ll park your car using VR controllers to solve puzzles in the form of parking challenges. And although it might look simple, the game is actually polished and surprisingly realistic in its vehicle behavior.
So, if you want to hone your parking skills, definitely check this one out. Oh, and it’s available on the Meta Quest as a standalone title. But, just a heads-up, though—you can’t use steering wheels, so keep that in mind.
#23. Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2024
- Platform: PC, PS5, XSX/S
Now, this is one of the actual ‘proper’ taxi games out there. Hell, maybe it’s the only taxi sim right now. However, this game doesn’t support VR natively, which is a letdown. But luckily, since it was developed using Unreal Engine, you can use a tool called UEVR to inject yourself into the game, enabling a somewhat decent VR mode.
And if you can make it work, the experience is quite immersive. Finally, now you can pretend to be a taxi driver in Barcelona—perfect practice if you ever want to take on the job for real!
#22. SickWay VR

- Release Date: 2025
- Platform: PC
Okay, this title might not be what you’re expecting on this list, but hear me out for a second. In this game, you’ll be riding a Segway on rooftops with the goal of getting down… safely. Yes, you can fall, and the dev claims the falling mechanics are realistic too—meaning you’ll actually see yourself falling.
So, yeah, this game is not for the faint of heart, obviously. It requires not only precision but also the guts to play it. And maybe a bucket nearby. So, if you think you’re ballsy, why not try this one?
#21. The Bus w/ Mods

- Release Date: 2021
- Platform: PC
In this city bus simulation game, you’ll step into the shoes of a bus driver navigating the hustle and bustle of Berlin’s roads while offering passengers tickets for their journey. And let me tell you, Berlin’s charm is meticulously recreated at a 1:1 scale, complete with its iconic landmarks.
However, the game doesn’t actually support VR natively. But luckily, like many games developed with Unreal Engine, you can use UEVR to emulate a VR mode that’s quite enjoyable if you’re comfortable with modding. So, if you like dealing with cold passengers in a German city, then this is the game.
#20. Best Forklift Operator (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2022
- Platform: PC, SWITCH
Now, this one is touted as the best forklift simulator game out there, especially by people who operate forklifts for a living. And just so you know, this game suits many types of players.
For example, if you’re a gamer who’s into unique games, this one should definitely be on your wishlist. And if you’re actually planning to become a forklift-certified giga chad, it’s surprisingly decent at teaching you the basics. And, if you’re already a forklift driver and do forklifting for hours every day, then this game lets you work after work! How cool is that?
#19. VR Driver School

- Release Date: 2024
- Platform: PC
Okay, for those of you who spent most of your lives indoors and didn’t have friends, I get it—driving a real car can be scary. You have to go outside, face the real world, and interact with other human beings.
But if, for some reason, you need to learn to drive, this game could be the perfect solution to learning the basics—all while still living in your mom’s basement.
But of course, you’ll still need to actually go outside to get a real driving license, but this game will definitely help. And yes, it’s available on the Meta Quest too!
#18. VR Regatta – The Sailing Game

- Release Date: 2018
- Platform: PC
Alright, I know this list looks random as hell with a sailing game included. But let me convince you that sailing a boat in VR, especially in this game, is just as relaxing as your typical driving-focused games. If you enjoy games like Euro Truck Simulator or Bus Simulator, you’ll probably like this one too—especially if you’re open to new experiences.
Not only that, the dev behind this game is also one of the most solid devs ever and is super active on Reddit. So, yeah, I think this game definitely deserves a spot on this list.
#17. Til Nord w/ Mods

- Release Date: 2021
- Platform: PC
Now, this one is actually an open-world snowmobile game where you’ll take on various missions, race in time trials, and explore what the island has to offer. And you know what? This game was developed as a student project by a university in the Netherlands, which makes it all the more impressive.
And once again, with the help of UEVR, you can make this game available in VR mode. And believe me, the experience is unlike anything else on this list. And, oh, did I mention that this game is free to play?
#16. City Car Driving

- Release Date: 2016
- Platform: PC
Alright, this one is a hardcore simulator designed to school you in real-life car handling.
The game’s got you covered with a traffic rules system that’ll have you driving like a pro in no time, teaching you the ins and outs of road laws from around the world. And it’s not just about automatic or manual gearboxes—they’ve meticulously recreated both, so you can suck at both at the same time.
Oh, and get this: even though the game might look old, it actually supports VR natively! So, yeah, definitely check this one out if you’re into driving sims.
#15. Pure Rock Crawling w/ Mods

- Release Date: 2018
- Platform: PC
Now, here’s the deal: having a game that’s laser-focused on just rock crawling is a dream come true for some people. Sure, you might not get the same satisfaction as you do in real life, but it’s good enough.
And unlike other games that throw you onto logging roads or gravel roads, this one zeroes in on the art of crawling. And thanks to whoever made UEVR, virtual rock crawling has never been the same.
So, if crawling’s your thing, you’ll definitely want to grab this one. However, don’t expect too much, since it’s being developed by just one person.
#14. Desert Bus VR

- Release Date: 2017
- Platform: PC
Okay, this one is a faithful remake of the original, now with enhanced visuals and a few new features to make it less boring.
In this game, the VR mode offers a more immersive experience, but it does require a bit more physical endurance because you’ll drive for 8 hours—literally—to reach your destination, then another 8 hours—also literally—for the return trip. And before you ask, yes, people are playing this game.
That said, it’s free, so there’s no harm in giving it a try—except maybe for the neck pain you’ll feel after hours wearing the headset.
#13. Cloudpunk w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2020
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1, SWITCH
Now, this one isn’t technically a driving game, but if you’re into games where you drive—or in this case, fly—from place to place, then this one fits the bill.
In this game, cruising through the neon-lit streets of the city is surprisingly enjoyable, largely because the world is so unique and captivating. Sure, there are plenty of fetch quests, but each delivery has its own story—and that’s where the game truly shines.
And as usual, you can use UEVR to enhance that gloomy cyberpunk vibe. So, if you’re looking for a chill experience before bed, definitely check this one out.
#12. Bus Simulator 21 w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2021
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1
Some of you might be wondering, what kind of people play these driving games? Well, some people with busy lives are the main audience of these relaxing driving sims. They’re not here to feel the thrill of driving supercars and doing insane stunts. No, they’re here to relax.
Seriously, some of you will get why the market for pure driving games exists when you’re older.
So, if you want to ease your mind after a long day at work, this game could be the answer. And yes, you must use UEVR to experience the game in VR mode.
#11. American Truck Simulator

- Release Date: 2016
- Platform: PC
Technically, this game is similar to Euro Truck Simulator 2. However, while Europe might sometimes feel like a commute, America feels like freedom, like you’re on a grand adventure. And it’s not just the famous sights, it’s the everyday stuff: diners, gas stations, highways, and more.
And despite the simulator label, the game’s far from boring. Sure, you can drive responsibly, but you can also cause chaos if you want. Blocking traffic, racking up fines, and performing ridiculous maneuvers—it’s all part of the fun. And the good thing is, it supports VR natively, so definitely check this one out.
#10. Farming Simulator 22 w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2021
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1
Okay, as the title suggests, this one lets you operate heavy farming machinery to grow crops on your virtual farm. And yes, it’s a relaxing experience, especially after a long day at work.
However, unlike the other games on this list that require UEVR, this one needs a different tool called vorpX—a paid tool that enables VR in many non-VR games. So, I’d say that this method is best for experienced modders with a beefy gaming PC.
But still, there’s something undeniably satisfying about driving an expensive tractor in this game. So yeah, check this one out if you’re interested.
#9. The Long Drive

- Release Date: 2019
- Platform: PC
Now, this is one of those games that’s so weird, you can’t help but get hooked, even though you have no idea why.
It’s honestly a super basic game, just driving in a randomly generated desert with no real goal or major objectives, but somehow, it just clicks.
So, if you’re the type of person who loves road trips, this game probably scratches that itch. It’s not about the destination, it’s just about getting in the car and driving off into the unknown.
No agenda, no rush, just seeing where the road takes you, and that’s kinda the point.
#8. Euro Truck Simulator 2

- Release Date: 2012
- Platform: PC
Now, this is the go-to trucking sim for fans of the genre.
In this game, trucks handle realistically, with different brake systems and manual gear shifting adding depth to the experience.
You’ll navigate narrow streets, follow speed limits, and manage fuel economy—all while hauling heavy loads across vast distances. Plus, flashing your lights at oncoming traffic gets them to flash back, and you’ll even need to pull over for mandatory rest breaks every few hours.
On top of that, the game supports VR natively, which is impressive given its age. So, if you’re into trucking sims, this one’s a must-try.
#7. Pacific Drive w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2024
- Platform: PC, PS5
Okay, this game is as niche as it gets, but man, it’s got something special. If you’ve ever been into games like The Long Dark, you’ll get the appeal of diving into something strange, mysterious, and heavy on survival.
In short, this one isn’t your traditional “driving” game. It’s more of a survival game with building your car as one of the main gameplay mechanics. You’ll drive around to scavenge things so you can upgrade your wagon and survive the whole weird alien thing.
And, as usual, with UEVR, you can enhance the immersion even further.
#6. Motor Town: Behind The Wheel w/ Mods

- Release Date: 2021
- Platform: PC
Now, this is an open-world cartoony vehicle simulation game where you can drive different vehicles, explore the world, and take on a variety of missions.
But don’t let the low-poly, cartoonish graphics fool you—beneath that charming exterior, the driving physics are surprisingly solid. Plus, the game is packed with a variety of structured jobs that add more depth than just random one-off missions.
So, if you’re into fun driving games with diverse gigs, this one’s definitely worth checking out. And yes, you’ll need UEVR to experience this fun, relaxing game in VR.
#5. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files

- Release Date: 2017
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4
Okay, you might already know, but this one isn’t actually a dedicated driving game. It’s a legendary open-world game made by Rockstar, now designed to be played in VR. However, it’s not an entirely new game—they just decided to take some cases from the original and build a VR experience around them.
That said, you can still drive around post-World War II Los Angeles, which has been meticulously recreated. So, while this isn’t a dedicated driving game, the VR driving is solid enough—especially if you’re looking for something more than just driving.
#4. Assetto Corsa w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2014
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1
I usually include Assetto Corsa in racing lists, but thanks to its variety of maps and mods, you can technically turn it into a driving game—albeit without proper missions or objectives.
Simply put, you can add maps featuring highways, towns, or countryside roads. And don’t forget to install a realistic traffic simulation mod for a more immersive experience. This lets you drive in realistic settings and fully appreciate the game’s attention to detail, especially when paired with a steering wheel. And luckily, the game supports VR natively, so you’re all set there.
#3. BeamNG.drive

- Release Date: 2015
- Platform: PC
This game has come a long way from its origins as a funny car wreck simulator. Now, people use it to experience realistic car physics from the comfort of their moms’ basements.
And besides the native VR support, the game also includes some open-world maps you can roam from the get-go. But the real strength of this game, though, comes from its countless community-made maps and mods.
However, I must tell you that this is more of a sandbox vehicle game for driving around and doing stupid things, so if you love doing missions or objectives, this isn’t the game.
#2. Cyberpunk 2077 w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2020
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1
Now, I get it—you might never think of this game as a driving game. But hear me out for a sec, will ya?
Okay, as you can see, the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is huge and beautiful, and there are futuristic cars that you’ll use to drive around. And with such a massive open world and tons of missions, you’ll naturally be driving A LOT in this game.
And to enable VR, you must use a mod by LukeRoss called R.E.A.L. that costs $10 a month on Patreon. It’s totally worth it if you really want the cyberpunk VR experience.
#1. Grand Theft Auto V w/ Mods (VR only on PC)

- Release Date: 2013
- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1
As we already know, the open world of GTA 5 is massive and actually pretty good for people who want to free roam in various vehicles.
And you know what? Forget about free roam. Just playing this game normally will also require you to drive a lot from place to place—that’s just how GTA games work.
And if you use the VR mod which was also made by LukeRoss and install the ultra-realistic graphics mods and the realistic vehicle mods, you can start pretending you’re driving supercars and expensive SUVs you can’t afford in real life!
