Now, this one is still in Early Access and clearly not as mature as the first game, but it’s a highly anticipated driving sim.
And if you’ve never played this series before, the whole point is learning how to drive in real life. You’ll deal with traffic rules, road signs, driving etiquette, and basic car operation instead of trying to go as fast as possible.
So, if you’re an old basement dweller who hasn’t learned how to drive yet and you’re too anxious to enroll in driving school or meet a real-life instructor, maybe give this one a shot.
#24. Easy Delivery Co.

Alright, now we’re going from serious driving practice to something way more relaxed. This one is basically a chill delivery game with a story, where you drive around, make deliveries, and chat with the locals.
And sure, the retro graphics won’t impress people who demand photorealistic roads and perfectly simulated tire pressure, but honestly, I think that’s part of the charm.
So yeah, this isn’t made for hardcore sim players. It’s for the average guy with a full-time job who gets home exhausted, turns on his PC, and just wants to drive around peacefully without raising his blood pressure even more.
#23. Bus Simulator 27

Okay, the previous Bus Simulator became one of the go-to games if you wanted to experience life as a city bus driver, and now they’re finally coming back with a full new entry.
And yes, the devs are already calling this the next go-to bus game, which is a pretty bold claim. But honestly, I think they’ve earned the right to aim that high.
They also say this one will feature the biggest bus fleet in the entire series. So yeah, the promises are massive, but that’s exactly what we should expect from this series.
#22. Deliver At All Costs

- Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
So, this isn’t your typical driving game. It’s more like an isometric action delivery game where you have one simple job: deliver the package at all costs, exactly like the title says.
And apparently, “at all costs” includes smashing through fences, destroying buildings, and turning the entire neighborhood into a wreckfest. So yeah, that’s what makes this one so fun, because every delivery can quickly become complete chaos.
And sure, it’s not a traditional driving game with realistic physics or cockpit views, but you’re driving most of the time, so yeah, it still counts here.
#21. Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator

Now, this one is basically the taxi side missions from GTA games, but more serious. You’ll pick up passengers, follow traffic rules, manage your business, and give perfect chauffeur service to snobby customers.
However, the coolest part is the map, because it recreates a large section of Barcelona at a full 1:1 scale. Yes, you heard that right—it’s 1:1 scale.
So if you’re planning to become a taxi driver in Barcelona because apparently nobody else will hire you, I think this is the closest practice you’ll get without buying a plane ticket.
#20. Retrowave

Alright, if you grew up in the 80s—which means either you’re balding or on meds right now—you might want to check out this game.
I mean, as you can see, it’s a game where you just drive endlessly while listening to banger synthwave music. And yes, it absolutely nails the vibe and aesthetic of the 80s, especially if you watched a lot of sci-fi movies back then.
So, yeah, this is basically the perfect game to unwind while thinking about why you didn’t have the guts to talk to your high school crush years ago.
#19. City Transport Simulator 2026

Okay, this one is kinda unique, I guess, since it features both buses and trams. So yeah, you’ll be driving buses and also operating trams throughout the city.
And I know some of you might argue that operating a tram isn’t the same as driving a bus or a car. Technically, you’re right—we can’t turn left or right in a tram. But still, operating a tram feels relaxing and kinda scratches the same itch those bus sims do.
So, if you’re willing to try new things, maybe give this one a go.
#18. Cyberpunk 2077

Now, I get it—you don’t think of this as a driving game, because it’s technically an open-world action RPG. But hear me out for a sec, okay?
So, the map is massive, the city looks incredible, and you’ll spend a lot of time driving futuristic cars between missions. So yeah, that’s a lot of driving if you ask me.
Granted, the handling isn’t always great, especially with certain vehicles. However, if you’re playing on PC and comfortable modding games, then look up the realistic vehicle mods and the ultra-realistic graphics mods—they’re definitely game changers.
#17. Lake

Alright, as you can see, this one is not a hardcore driving sim, but rather a chill adventure game with lots of driving.
I mean, most of the time you’ll drive around the beautiful town of Providence Oaks, delivering mail and parcels while interacting with the locals and living the kind of chill courier life most of us probably need.
And as expected, the characters are charming, the voice acting is solid, and the whole place feels warm and believable.
So yeah, if work has been frying your brain lately, give this one a shot.
#16. Lawn Mowing Simulator

- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch 2, Switch
Okay, in case you have a double-digit IQ and somehow still can’t figure out what this game is about, it’s about driving lawn mowers.
But seriously, this one is actually pretty chill. You’ll cruise through the British countryside while building your own lawn-mowing business empire, which sounds way more intense than it really is.
You’ll trim backyards, castle grounds, rich people’s mansions, and plenty of other places, each with different layouts and scenery.
And honestly, there’s something weirdly therapeutic about making every patch look perfect. So if your brain needs a break after a long day, try this one.
#15. Drive Beyond Horizons

So, the whole point of this game is just to drive around and build your car from scraps. And yes, it’s the spiritual successor to the cult classic game The Long Drive.
And what I like about this game is that the devs are trying to deliver what The Long Drive hasn’t been able to deliver all these years. I mean, we all know that The Long Drive is kinda dead and abandoned at this point, despite still having a lot of loyal players.
Anyway, this one is still in Early Access, so yeah, go in with the right expectations.
#14. Farming Simulator 25

Now, this game is actually an open-world farming sim first and foremost. But as you can see, operating heavy farming machinery is a big part of it, which makes it great if you love driving—especially if you want a driving game with lots of objectives.
And with hundreds of machines and heavy-duty rigs from more than 100 brands, you’ll experience what it’s like to operate this kind of equipment.
So, if you’re bored of standard driving simulators where you drive regular cars, maybe driving a tractor and other farming machinery could be a fun alternative.
#13. Star Trucker

- Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Alright, if you’re into trucking games but want something different, then this game could be the answer.
As you can see, it’s a trucking game—but instead of driving your truck through regular highways, you’re flying your truck through space highways. And yes, I know, some of you might think this one feels more like a space sim than a driving game, but the experience of maneuvering the space trucks feels surprisingly relaxing, similar to how traditional truck games feel.
So yeah, if you don’t have a problem trying new things, definitely consider this one.
#12. Bus Bound

- Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Okay, this is one of the most recent bus games right now, and although at first it looks like it’s competing with the more established bus sims, it’s actually not.
This one feels more arcade-y and mission-based, unlike other bus games that aim to be as realistic as possible. And not only that, it has a multiplayer mode where you can play with three other players to tackle missions and challenges.
Oh, and this game is developed by the same people behind the Bus Simulator series, so yeah, there’s a good chance it’ll get better over time.
#11. My Winter Car

So, this one is an open-world driving and car-building game developed by the same devs behind the cult classic My Summer Car, and it actually feels really different even though on the surface it looks very similar.
Basically, if My Summer Car is about being young, wild, and free, this one slaps you with reality and adult responsibilities. You know, like bills, rent, proper jobs, and drinking problems. Oh, and the cold, dark winter nights in Finland certainly don’t help either.
So yeah, if you’re an adult with responsibilities, now you can simulate another adult life in this one.
#10. Pacific Drive

- Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Now, this game is as niche as it gets, but man, it’s got something special. If you’re into sci-fi horror games, you’ll get the appeal of diving into something strange, mysterious, and heavy on survival.
So yes, this one isn’t your traditional “driving” game. It’s more of a survival game with building your car as one of the main gameplay mechanics. You’ll drive around to scavenge things so you can upgrade your wagon and survive the whole weird alien stuff.
So yeah, out of all the games in this list, I’d say that this one is the weirdest.
#9. Assetto Corsa w/ Mods

Alright, this one is actually one of the go-to hardcore racing sims, but it has a ton of mods available, including custom maps where you can just drive without any real objectives.
And as you can see, with this setup, you can freely roam around various maps, chill to some music, and enjoy the realistic physics this game is known for. At that point, it’s no longer a racing game.
So, if that sounds like your vibe, get the game, install some maps, throw in a few weather mods, and maybe hop into VR—and you’re good to go.
#8. Motor Town: Behind The Wheel

Okay, this is easily one of the most recommended open-world driving games for casual players. Basically, it’s a cartoony driving sandbox where you can mess around with all kinds of vehicles, explore the world, and do a bunch of different jobs and missions.
And yeah, the low-poly graphics look childish, no denying that, but I feel like the driving physics are actually pretty solid. Plus, the game has way more structure than you’d expect, so again, don’t let the visuals fool you.
So yeah, if you want a simple but fun driving game, definitely try this one.
#7. My Summer Car

So this is the most popular car owning and building game out there. And yes, you’ll be driving a lot, since you need to go between places either to do jobs for money or hunt for the parts you need for your car.
So yeah, even though the core game is about building your own car, driving is still a huge part of the experience. And although the graphics look outdated, the physics are actually somewhat great.
And if those things still haven’t convinced you yet, I’ll let you know that this game has over 100,000 reviews on Steam.
#6. American Truck Simulator

- Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Now this game is pretty similar to Euro Truck Simulator 2 since both came from the same company, but the vibe is different. I mean, driving around in Europe feels great, not gonna lie, but trucking in America feels more like a giant road trip adventure.
Anyway, passing through the simple everyday stuff like diners, gas stations, highways, and all that American stuff is also a big part of the feeling you get when playing this game. So if you watched a lot of American movies, this one will make you feel like you’re in one.
#5. Grand Theft Auto V

- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One
Alright, the open world of GTA 5 is massive and fun for people who just want to free roam in various vehicles.
And just playing this game normally will also require you to drive a lot from place to place. It’s just the way GTA games are.
Also, if you install the realistic graphics mods and vehicle mods, you can pretend you’re driving supercars and SUVs you can’t afford in real life while you’re actually just sitting in front of a screen.
So yeah, until GTA 6 is released for PC, this is the best we currently have.
#4. The Bus

Okay, now it’s time to get a real job and drive a bus through Berlin. In this game, you’ll basically roleplay as a bus driver, drive your route, pick up passengers, and even sell tickets along the way.
And the cool part is that Berlin is recreated at a full 1:1 scale, complete with famous landmarks, so the whole thing feels surprisingly immersive.
You can also customize your fleet, drive at your own pace, or just explore the city. And honestly, working another shift after a long day at work shouldn’t feel relaxing, but somehow this one does.
#3. BeamNG.drive

- Platform: PC, PS5
So this game used to be known exclusively as a funny car wreck simulator. But now, people also use it to experience realistic car physics from the comfort of their mom’s basements.
And yes, the game also includes some open-world maps you can roam around in from the get-go. But the real strength of this game comes from its countless maps and mods.
Oh, and the game has missions, but they’re not exactly the best part. However, if you just want to drive around with realistic soft-body physics and suspension simulation, then this is the one.
#2. SnowRunner

- Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch 2, Switch
Now, this game is all about driving through mud, snow, rivers, and terrain that absolutely hates you. And somehow, that’s what makes it fun. Also, even today, this is still the king of off-road driving sims. I mean, the way the trucks interact with the terrain is just THAT good.
Anyway, in this game, you’ll be hauling cargo, rebuilding bridges, rescuing stuck vehicles, and trying not to flip your truck every five minutes. So yeah, patience is key here.
Oh, and there’s four-player co-op too, which makes the suffering more enjoyable—assuming you have friends, of course.
#1. Euro Truck Simulator 2

Alright, this is the go-to trucking game according to truck sim fans. And what’s funny is, despite being the oldest game on this list, it’s been the king of driving sims for the past decade. I mean, that’s kinda insane when you think about it.
Anyway, in this sim, the trucks feel heavy, with proper manual shifting, different braking systems, fuel management, and all that nerdy truck stuff. And once you’re hooked, you’ll be driving for hours just to deliver cargo across Europe.
So yeah, if you love driving that much, this is for you.
